Welcome to my blog(s)!

If things look a little different to you, you’re right. I’ve split my original blog in two. This blog will now be for sketches, tutorials, and other bloggish type stuff.

I'm Moving to Portland

Hi gang! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Most everything I've done lately has been for films which haven't come out yet. I'll be posting some of my work from Puss In Boots on my Portfolio Page soon, so be sure to check back.

The big news is that my family and I are moving to Portland, Oregon! "Why on earth would you leave sunny Los Angeles and move to Portland?!?" I hear you scream. Those in the know, will instantly think of Laika Entertainment...the studio that did Coraline a few years back. Yes, I'm going to Laika...to be the Production Designer on their third feature, "Here be Monsters"...an adaptation of the book by the same name, written by Alan Snow. What an amazingly cool place to work...very different from the studios I've been at lately!

I'm actually writing this from a hotel room in Sacramento on the journey up. The movers packed up our stuff last Friday. It's really weird to see all of your worldly possessions distilled down to a bunch of brown cardboard boxes of varying shapes and sizes.

Onward to Oregon today!

I saw your thread and just wanted to know . . . how you and your family like it here? I relocated her with my son in 1999 (he was 3 at the time) from (sunny, I hear ya) So. California. But, it was the BEST move ever! Hope you've settled in okay. My son took a few stop-action classes with Will Vinton a year or so ago. Big fan of LAIKA. And BTW, it's only kinda, sorta like PORTLANDIA :-)
